Is this program available to all veterans, or just those who served as part of the military efforts in Iraq or Afghanistan?

The Fund for Veterans' Education accepts applications for aid only from those veterans who were deployed for 60 days to Afghanistan, Iraq, or served in the surrounding area and have documented service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom after September 11, 2001, or those who were deployed, but did not meet the 60-day active service period as a result of a service-related injury or condition incurred while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.

There are programs open to all veterans, both war and peacetime. View our resources page for more information on those.

I have already received a Veterans’ Fund for Education scholarship and will continue to be in school next year. Should I apply again?

No, you don’t need to submit a new application if you are already a recipient. Renewal paperwork and instructions will be sent to you directly from Scholarship America each spring.

I'm not in school right now. Can I still apply?

You do not have to be in a school currently, but must be enrolled at an institution or technical school for the Spring 2009 semester. We are not accepting applications for those who have not enrolled.

I am not a veteran, but would like to help. What can I do?

The Fund for Veterans' Education is a program of an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. The Fund's revenue is derived entirely from grants and gifts from foundations, corporations, and individuals like you. All gifts are tax deductible.
